New Year's Eve Verona

For a romantic New Year's Eve, behind the Arena shade or “overlooking” the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony, you can’t not to choose the beautiful city of Verona!
This famous city is situated in the centre of a green plain, wet from the Adige river. The good fortune of Verona was born in ancient times, when the city was at the centre of the main roads that lead to northern Europe and in the East.
Still today Verona is a very important centre in the industrial economy, as one of the most important Northern industrial city east of the peninsula.
Anyway, great part of the economy of the city is based on the tourism industry.
It will be a pleasure to stroll around the roads of the hystorical centre of Verona, existing since the time of the Ancient Rome (50 B.C. approximately): many monuments and places must be seen.
Let's start, as usual, from the Cathedral of the city and the main churches, for example the San Zeno basilica, in Romanesque style, or the Santa Eufemia church, in Gothic style.
Point of force of the city is the magnificent Arena, an ancient amphitheater wanted by the Emperor Augustus willing: today the Arena is used, because it shows the opera music famous all over the world.
Verona is also full of beautiful squares, all to visit: for example in the heart of the historical centre there is Piazza delle Erbe.
From here you can get to Piazza Brà, a meeting point of the people of the place, along the historic Mazzini Street.
Among the monuments, we recommend a visit to the column of the Market and to the column of San Marco, the fountain of Madonna Verona, the house of Merchants, of 1300, still to the monument dedicated to Dante and the Palace of the Town, with a courtyard in Romanesque style that is called Mercato Vecchio: from here you can go up the Lamberti tower, thanks to its 84 meters of height, it guarantees the most beautiful panoramic views of the city.
Many other are the areas to visit, but among all you can’t lose the legendary balcony of the Juliet's Capuleti building which dates back to the 14th century.
If you are in Verona you absolutely must go to eat in the Tre Molini restaurant, situated in the tiny Borghetto.
The landscape is really wonderful, because the restaurant overlooks a nice lake and it is surrounded by high mountains.
Also the kitchen is not less: the dishes proposed are those of the tradition of the region.
If you want a little more action, you can go out dancing in one of the most frequented clubs of Verona, i.e. the Berfis.
The Berfis, in addition of being a fashion disco, it is also a restaurant, bar and live music place!
As regards to the restaurant, the food is pleasant, while the music (including the live music) is really good!
