New Year's Eve Varese

Varese boasts a marvellous landscape, that becomes even more beautiful in winter, and therefore is recommended a visit especially in the Christmas and New Year period.
The city overlooks a beautiful lake (which has the same name), and it is surrounded by a very green area, full of parks, villas and gardens: also, for this Varese is called the Garden City.
Another name attributed to this wonderful town is the Town of 100 Lakes, precisely to the lush nature which characterizes it.
Furthermore, two imposing mountains distinguish the panorama of the city: one of these is the Sacred Mount.
One of the most popular attractions in Varese, is the beautiful historic centre, with its small streets where you can go shopping while you admire the many monuments, mainly historical palaces and noble palaces.
Among these doesn’t pass unnoticed the Estense Palace, built by Francesco III Este around the half of the 1700: strong point of the building are the marvellous Italian gardens.
Other symbol of the city is the Velata Tower, situated along the ancient walls of the city: unfortunately part of the historical building has been destroyed.
To visit also are the villas around Varese, in particular those which are found along the shores of the lake, almost all villas of the XVII century: these wonderful dwellings are a cultural heritage and are protected by the FAI.
Among all, we recommend the Menafoglio Litta Panza Villa: in it you can admire a famous collection of contemporary art, which belongs to the Panza count.
Finally, to mention is the gastronomy and the entertainments in Varese.
With regards to the first point, we recommend to prove the typical cuisine of the Caminetto restaurant or the Vecchio Forno or to the Vecchio Tre Valli; or you can opt for a delicious pizza in one of several pizzerias, as the Caracciolo pizzeria.
As regards to the clubs, the choice among those in Varese and around it is wide.
