New Year Trentino

The city of Trento is the ideal destination for a characteristic New Year’s Eve in mountain: from here you can visit the most famous ski station of the Trentino region.
But let's begin our visit of the city from the Cathdral, with its Romanesque-Gothic style (its construction began in 1130) and it is dedicated to Saint Virgilio.
Among the other religious buildings we recommend a visit to the Renaissance church of Santa Maria Maggiore, dating back to 1500, at the magnificent cathedral, and finally to the Saint Francis Xavier church or the Jesuits church, situated in the famous Belanzani street.
Always in this historical road we can admire several noble residences, also the fascinating Thun Palace, today the Town Hall headquarter.
Among the most oldest monumento, we remind you of the Vanga tower, a Roman stronghold built by the bishop Federico Vanga; the crenellated walls in the beautiful Fair Square; the Buonconsiglio castle, that from 1255 was the residence of the bishops of the city.
Within this beautiful building surrounded by massive walls and with a drawbridge, we can admire the Provincial Museum of Art and the Historical Museum in Trento.
Finally, we cannot not visit the beautiful Cesare Battisti square, built during the Fascist era: this square, today considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, was obtained after the dismantling of the popular St. Benedict district and the Cathedral Square.
What makes this square so charming, are the frescoed houses and, above all, the famous Neptune fountain.
