New Year's Eve Sondrio

If you are in the north of Italy during the Christmas period or the festivities, you might opt for a New Year’s Eve in the square of the small town of Sondrio, that is the main centre of the Valtellina.
More precisely we can say that Sondrio occupies a favourable position in the area of Valmalenco: in fact, it is in the centre of the trade area between the north and south of the European continent.
Another reason for visiting Sondrio in the period of the New Year’sEve is purely for the climate: in fact, the summer is a torrid, while during the winter season is cold, but it always snows, making everything more suggestive.
The most characteristic area and that is worth visiting is the Old Sondrio.
Let’s start our tour starting from the beautiful Campello square: here we can admire the wonderful Pretorio Palace, which dates back to about 1500; in the square is located the St. Geravsio Collegiate Church and the Protasio.
We now come to another important square of the historical centre, namely Garibaldi square, dating back to 1800: here we can visit the Valtellinese Museum of history and art, which is located inside the Palace dei Sassi dè Lavizzari.
