New Year's Eve Savona

The small city of Savona could be a surprising destination for your holidays, so why don’t visit it, perhaps, during the holidays or for the next New Year’s Eve!
In fact Savona is a city with thousands of resources, even if it has often been underestimated: first of all this is the third city of the Liguria region for the number of inhabitants.
What is more relevant is that Savona is also the most important port and centre of trade of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente.
Then Savona is a very diverse and interesting city from the architectural point of view.
We can virtually split the city into three distinct zones: the historic centre, with its medieval and baroque buildings; the nineteenth-century zone, very schematic; and finally, the most recent part of the city, which it extends to the north-west.
But if you want to visit the most ancient area in absolute, and also have a panoramic view, you can go to Priamar, a fortress that overlooks the sea and leaves visitors breathless: inside it, you can visit the Archeological museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Renata Cuneo museum.
Instead, all the aristocratic palaces and villas, in addition to the churches and the convents, have arisen around the 1700s: unfortunately, during the war many parts of the city were destroyed by the bombs, which sought to the military industries around the area.
We can start our tour of the city by starting from the main road of the historical center of Savona: via Paleocapa: thanks to the porches which characterize the way, it represents the right place suited to pleasant walks with any type of climate!

We can go on with our visit in the centre by visiting the Cathedral: the façade is in Baroque style, but inside, we can admire the renaissance sculptures and the different chapels.
Scattered in the historic centre, we see the different medieval towers: the most important and impressive is the tower of Brindale.
Another zone to visit is the Eroe dei Due Mondi Palace where there is the public garden, and able to give wonderful and rather suggestive views!
