New Year's Eve Rieti

For a New Year Eve immersed in the magnificent panorama of the Sabini Mountains and the Marmore Cascades, and not too far from the famous Terminillo ski resort, the town of Rieti is everything you need!
Born as an agricultural town, in the years Rieti has become an important industrial centre, which has seen its maximum expansion from of the annexion of the city to Kingdom of Italy.
Thanks to its ancient origins, the city has much to offer at the historical and artistic level.
Let’s start our visit from the Assunta cathedral, the largest peculiarity is the high bell tower, in Romanesque style, in addition to the inside in baroque style.
Close o the cathedral there is the Baptistery, in which we can admire some works of the collection of the Diocesan Museum.
In addition to these, in the historical centre of the city you can admire many churches of different ages and styles.
Among the not religious buildings, several buildings must be visted, as for example, the Municipal Palace, dating from the XIInd century but then restructured a century later: within the building is hosted the Civic Museum, with works about the Rieti history.
Still, we can visit the impressive Bishop's Palace with its beautiful arcades: within we find the Diocesan Art Gallery.
However, it is very easy to visit Rieti, as the most important monuments are all in the two main squares, namely the Battisti square and the Vittorio Emanuele II square, a time, the Forum of the city.
Furthermore, we can admire the Medieval Walls, which are still intact: very particular are the semicircular towers and square.
Finally, we end our visit with the Bishop Arc, very bizarre from the architectural point of view: this bridge was built by the will of Bonifacio VIII.
