New Year's Eve Padua
The beautiful city of Padua rises in a very suggestive area of the Veneto region, which carries on a particular charm especially in winter: is this a good reason to spend a New Year’s Eve a bit unusual here in the heart of the Euganean Hills? Since its formation, Padua took a decisive role in the economic life of the zone, being also favoured by its position, which saw the city in the centre of the trade not only with the northern Europe, but also with the Eastern Europe.
Thanks to its importance, always growing, in 1222 was founded the Italian university, which became the second in Europe: this cultural institution had recalled personalities such as Francesco Petrarca and Galileo Galilei.
The Italian University, said the "Bo", is situated in the marvelous VIII February Road, in front of the municipal palace.
Still today Padua is considered one of city the most active city from the cultural point of view: this also draws much tourism, which represents one of the main forms of subsistence of the city, along with the industry and the trade.

And then, how not to mention the beautiful squares of Padua, such as Piazza dei Signori, Piazza Insurrezione (the insurrection square), situated in the modern Padua, or still Piazza delle Erbe, with its fruit and vegetables dealers, and Piazza Cavour, in the heart of the historical part of the city.
Then, we can immerse in the green of the public garden called Arena, where we find the Scrovegni Chapel: here you can admire 38 Giotto frescoes, including the “presentation of the Virgin temple", the “escape into Egypt "and the “capture of Jesus”.
Lots of other things must be seen in Padua, so rich in history and art.
Here we limit ourselves to remember the beautiful Orto Botanico (botanical vegetable garden): dating back to 1545, is considered the most ancient Botanic Garden of Europe and one of the largest and most interesting in Italy.
Finally, in Padua go eating in Via Perosi 75, Osteria di Michele, in the heart of the city.
