New Year's Eve Naples

When we think about the New Year’s Eve in Italy you cannot not think of the extreme and folk celebrations of the city of Naples.
This beautiful city reserve many surprises, little by little you discover it.
We start our visit of the city from the Town Hall Square, with a particular rectangular shape: here we can admire the Bourbon Palace of St. Giacomo, which houses the Town Hall.
In the square there is the equestrian monument to Vittorio Emanuele III, the Certosa of San Martino and the St. Elmo castle.
Another castle, known throughout Italy, is the Nuovo Castle, that is the famous Maschio Angioino Castle, that was the symbol of the Angioino power, and subsequently of the Aragonese and then Bourbon.
Among the squares then, how not to visit the Plebiscito square, one of the most beautiful in Naples: here we can admire the two equestrian statues of Charles of Bourbon and the Ferdinando I one, a wonderful work by Canova.
Other strong point of Naples is the infamous San Carlo Theatre, opened in 1737 and then restored in the XIXth century.
Among the civil buildings we recommend a visit to the Royal Palace, of XVIIth century, a wonderful residence dedicated to the King of Spain, which today houses the Vittorio Emanuele National Library; and the Capodimonte Royal Palace, a splendid residence built by the Bourbons in 1700, which dominates from above the city of Naples.
Finally, we end our visit of the city with a representative road of Naples, namely the famous Toledo Street, built by the King with the same name in 1536, and today known as Roma Street.
