New Year's Eve Modena

Even if, among the other cities in Romagna, Modena is less famous as a tourist destiation, this is a city that really worth to visit, not only during the summer but also, why not, during winter or for the New Year vacation.
Surely, you'll be surprised by the beauty of the simple and elegant Modena, which boasts a wonderful historical centre of the Medieval period and many other historical and artistic beauties.
How we can’t mention the natural beauty: the roads of the city take the name by the various citiziens channels and from the river, an important presence within the city.
But Modena still offers more: in fact, here you can immerse yourself in the charm of the history, breathe art and culture, but you will also find much fun, among the clubs, the events and you can travel in the fabulous gastronomic tradition of the city.
But let's begin our visit by the most ancient part in Modena: Piazza Grande.
The bell tower of the Duomo (catherdral) is then, one of the elements that dominate over the city landscape: we are talking about the famous Ghirlandina tower, which gives the Duomo a more monumental aspect.
Other building to admire in Piazza Grande square, is the Palazzo Comunale. Instead, if you are a passionate of museums, you must go to the Museums Palace or Palazzo dei Musei, dating back to 1700: in its inside you can visit the wonderful Estense gallery, i.e. one of the most interesting and complete art collections of all of Europe.
Always within the building, you can’t miss a visit to the Este library, famous for the old volumes preserved there.
Another famous museum in Modena is the Lapidario Estense Museum: created in 1828 by the Duke Alessandro IV of Austria, the museum presents a rich collection of archaeologicalobjects and classic srt works from Emilia Romagna.
The paintings lovers cannot lose the Campali gallery, while inside the Civic Museum of History and Medieval and Modern Art you can admire a collection of objects of sacred art and arms, medals, musical instruments and many other objects of the daily life of our predecessors.
Finally, in the old part of the city we find the wonderful Saint Augustine church.
