New Year's Eve Lodi

Sometimes it is an underestimated destination, but Lodi could be a good solution for a New Year’s Eve rather unusual!
Located in the south of the Lombardia region, Lodi extends along the river Adda. Although it is not a big centre, Lodi is a quite rich city, thanks to the important industries, most of which deal with the milk and its derivatives.
In addition to the important industries and commercial activities, Lodi is rich in artistic beauties, including the Duomo (cathedral) that we cannot mention, of the Medieval era, but restrucured and enlarged during the Renaissance.
Outside this building we can admire a fantastic terracotta facade while inside it, stood out the magnificent frescoes, which are found for example in the crypt where are kept the relics of Saint Bassiano, the Patron and the first Bishop of the city.
To visit is also the civic museum: here are kept many lodigiane ceramics, dating back to the period from the XVI to the XIX century.
Among the squares, it stands out Piazza Maggiore (or of the victory square) that, in fact, it is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy.
Finally, the last stage of this guided tour is the temple of the Crowned: this is a small church with Renaissance origins and with an octagonal form feature.
Inside, entirely dedicated on the blue and gold tones, you can admire a fabulous and very precious organ of the ‘500.
New Year in Mantova
Mantova is a really surprising city, to absolutely visit during the winter, perhaps in the Christmas period and for the New Year’s Eve.
Not far from the Po river, the Mincio river surrounds , forming three lakes, the city of Mantova.
But, in addition to the fantastic natural landscape, the city boasts a truly exceptional architecture: mainly in neoclassical style, there are however glimpses of the Medieval era and of the Renaissance period and also a roman past.
We start our tour of the city from the beautiful Bordello square, undoubtedly in medieval style: here we find the cathedral, in Romanesque and Gothic style outside and in classic style inside; in the square we can admire the Ducale Palace or the Gonzaga Palace, that dominates the square as one of the largest buildings in Europe.
Inside the building we can visit the fabulous museum, which includes a pictorial section (with paintings of artists such as the Tintoretto), an archaeological section, with classical Greek and Roman sculptures and yet the apartment of the tapestries and the Ducale Flat, fantastic environments thanks to the decorations and the frescoes that distinguish them.
Another monument to highlight is the Palazzo Te, designed in the 1525-35 by Giulio Romano.
