New Year's Eve Lecco

The lovers of the lake and of the natural landscapes may award themselves with a fantastic winter holiday, perhaps on the New Year’s Eve day in the Leco city. Unforgettable are the landscapes that surround the city, with the high mountains that sheer into the lake.
In any case, Lecco, even if it is surrounded by the mountains, it is situated in a very favourable position, in a flat area: in addition, being exposed to the lake winds and to the sun, the climate is fantastic and rather mild.
Lecco, in addition of boasting this wonderful natural panorama, it is also rich of historical and artistic beauties, in addition to be a city with a continuous growth thanks to its numerous industries.
The city, of pre-roman origins and developed during the Middle Age, consists of a series of adjacent districts adjacent but very well outlined, they almost stand alone.
But we shall now proceed to our tour of the city, which could begin with the most ancient monument of Lecco: this is a bridge, the Ponte Azioni Visconti, which dates back to 1338, the year in which it was built to connect the city with the duchy of Milan.
Surprising but true, still today the bridge is one of the main steps if arriving from Milan.
Other places to visit are, for example, the Civic Museum, the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the victory, in honor of the victims of the World War I, or still, the Villa Manzoni, where the great Alessandro Manzoni spent most part of his youth.
Finally, you can’t miss to visit the wonderful port of the city, very characteristic and suggestive: the port, which was wanted by the Empress Maria Teresa of Austria, is without a doubt the heart of the city, the commercial district for excellence.
