New Year's Eve Latina

Latina is famous for its characteristic flea markets, which are organized especially in the Christmas and the New Year period.
Despite the recent origins (it was founded in 1932 by the Fascist regime during the Pontino reclamation) is one of the most important centres of the area, from the economic point of view, that has seen a strong development, starting from 1960: in this period were based many companies, especially agricultural.

Our visit of Latina can begin from the beautiful Popolo Square, a centre around which was built the Littoria town.
Here we find the Town Hall, next to which it stands out the beautiful Civic Tower, built in medieval style.
In the Popolo square we can admire an important religious building, i.e. the St. Marco cathedral, by Frezzotti.
The same artist has designed the Government building, situated in the Libertà square: today the Palace is the headquarter of the Prefecture.
Here we can always visit the beautiful Public Park.
Another important place of the city is the Quadrato square, where we can admire the central fountain and the tufa statues.
Finally, we see other three buildings of historical interest, namely the Fascio Palace and the M Palace, both in honour of the Duce, and impressive Posta building.
