New Year's Eve Fermo

As in many small Italian centres, also in the Fermo town every year, and for Christmas and New Year, characteristic markets and small shows are organized along the road, which make the roads of the city lively and comfortable.
Fermo has very ancient origins: in fact, it was a very important Roman colony, then went under the Longobardo domain.
Today, among the main activities of the city, we remember the agriculture and the livestock.
But let’s start our visit of the city from the Duomo Assunta cathedral, a splendid building built between the XIIIth and XIVth century.
Among the religious buildings we also mention the Saint Domenico church, built in the XVth century: to make this church still more interesting, there is a wonderful wooden choir dating back to 1450.
Other important building, this time not religious, is the Priori Palace, dating back to the XVIth century: inside, we can visit the Civic Art Gallery.
However, the heart of the city is without a doubt the Popolo Square, a meeting place and point of reference for the people who live in Fermo.
Furthermore, we recommend a visit to the Archaeological Antiquarium Museum, where you can admire the numerous finds and ancient works.
Finally, we remember that the Fermo surroundings offer natural landscapes really unforgettable: we recommend to organize walks or excursions outside the city!
