New Year's Eve Cuneo

The Cuneo city, delightful during the Christmas and the New Year period, is a very important town but slightly isolated because of its position.
Surrounded by the Marittime and Cozie Alps, Cuneo takes its name from the fact that is above a hilltop with a “wedge” shape.
Unlike the other city in the Piemonte region, Cuneo, althought it has many industries, has its economy based above all on the agriculture.
Being a very old city, there are many monumento or places of historical and artistic interest to visit.
Let’s start our visit from the Cathedral, with Medieval origin and precisely of 1662: the architectual style is neoclassic with a fantastic nineteenth-century dome that complete the structure.
Also the interiors of the Cathedral deserve a visit: in fact the church is decorated with many paintings from various Piemonte artists.
Then we can go to the Santa Chiara church, with beautiful frescoes inside; still, to visit is the Sant’Ambrogio church, in Baroque style; finally, the beautiful San Francesco church, a wonderful example of the medieval art: at its inside we can admire the wonderful altar of the Costa chapel, designed in 700 by Filippo Juvarra.
Finally, it is imperative a visit to the Madonna della Riva Sanctuary, dating back to the first 800.
